We can’t celebrate Black History Month without mentioning First Lady, Michelle Obama. There is a phrase that says behind every strong man there is a strong woman. What greater woman to make this true than the wife of the first black President of the United States?
Michelle did not just stumble upon President Obama and live happily ever after. Mrs. Obama was a boss before she said “I do.” Throughout her life Michelle exceeded expectations academically and professionally which started when she skipped the 2nd grade. Thereafter she graduated each elementary, middle and high school’s with honors. After attending law school, Michelle met Barack Obama while working at a firm in Chicago. She was assigned to be his mentor in the internship program and the two hit it off. Continue reading

This is the night Hollywood glams up in designers best, with hopes to take home and Oscar and also make it on Best Dressed list everywhere!! SNEAK PEEK : Gucci Fall 2011

I think I may have found my favorite collection from this years Fashion week, it’s GUCCI!!!! For fall 2011, Gucci goes back to the 70′s! The 70′sis my favorite (besides 1920′s/30′s glam) clothing era. It was a time all about self expression, women were able to be sexy and sultry as well as tough (hence Foxy Brown), with out falling short of being glamorous! I love the parallels that GUCCI has done for fall 2011, having feminine suits with wide brimed hats as well as ultra sexy sheer gowns, paired with rosets!
If I had to describe this collection in 2 words it would be BOSSED UP! I’m in LOVE!!!

BREAKING FASHION NEWS: JOHN GALLIANO ARESSTED FOR ASSAULT!

Yesterday we featured John Galliano’s Spring/Summer 2011 shoes, (which are amazing), and today we’ve learned that the Dior designers has been arrested in Paris for assaulting a couple and makin anti-Semitic results. One policeman at the scene says that Galliano’s outburst was caused by ” the stress of (Paris) Fashion week”, in which Dior’s show is scheduled for next Friday! It is unclear whether or not John Galliano physically assaulted the couple or if it was only Jewish slurs thrown, either way it’s unacceptable. And for a policeman to release a statement ,placing Galliano’s action on Fashion Week, is pure comedy. I’ve always said that the most talented people have the largest struggles, and while I can only imagine his stress during fashion week, it gives him or anyone else the right to attack others.
