Legendary SuperModel Naomi Campbell is threatening to sue Cadbury, over the use of her name in it’s new ad. The ad consist of chocolate candy , dripped in diamonds and reads “Move Over Naomi, there’s a new diva in town.” Naomi released this statement , Campbell said, “I am shocked. It’s upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me, but for all black women and black people. I do not find any humour in this. It is insulting and hurtful.” Her mother, Valerie Morris, added, “I’m deeply upset by this racist advert. Do these people think they can insult black people and we just take it? This is the 21st century, not the 1950s. Shame on Cadbury.”
I’m sorry but I am so sick of black people quickly puling the racist card. Let us state the facts, the obvious, Naomi is a dark skin woman, he skin is beautiful and yes it’s chocalate! I can understand not wanting them to use your name or likeness, but pulling the racist card is a bit much.
Kraft, which owns Cadbury released this statement: ”It was certainly never our intention to cause any offense and the campaign itself is a light-hearted take on the social pretensions of Cadbury Dairy Milk Bliss.” The ad has been pulled.
