IamSuperGorge went out to the video premier of Carmen Camren’s “Say That Your In Love”.  The evening included a screening of the video, followed by comic relief from Desi the Comedian who was rather hilarious!!

 Carmen is a Baltimore native has been singing since she was in high school. Initially, Carmen was afraid to sing in front of people because she didn’t want others to frown upon her.  She was in her first singing group at the age of 15 called KASHE, then later moved to New York and joined a group called RED. Not only is Carmen a vocalist, but she owns and designs her own jewelry line, Hard Candy Couture. Having been inducted into the Women of Power Organization, Carmen says things are moving at a much faster pace than she anticipated. She says her passion comes from her “hunger to be successful”.  

In addition to her other talents, Carmen is a song writer. She has written for Day 26, Cassie, Mario Winands, and worked on the American Gangster album with Jay-Z.  I asked Carmen what inspires her to write she replied, “Music has always been in my heart. I sing to pour form my soul”.  She pays homage to artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Anita Baker, Frank Sinatra, and Luther Vandross because they express so much emotion through their songs and performance.

This young lady has a strong soulful voice, and I’m no psychic, but I definitely see success in her future. She was very humble and approachable. The audience loved her and she was a natural!!

Be on the lookout for Ms. Camren because Carma is Coming!!
