GET IN LINE: WHITNEY HOUSTON’S “THE BODYGUARD” JEWELRY, VEST & DRESS TO BE AUCTIONED NEXT MONTH!

I had a feeling this was coming. Whitney hasn’t even been in the ground for 24 hours and people are already running to the bank to cash their checks and make money off of it. I know, I know…it’s a recession, but at least wait a month…I guess not. They’re announcing today that her earrings, a vest, and black velvet dress will be auctioned off with the dress estimated to be worth $1000, knowing it will go for much more. The vest’s bidding will start at $400 and the earrings at $600. Starting bids are already totaling $2,000. There are going to be people opinionated on both sides of this situation, one side saying how offensive it is and the other saying “it’s an investment”, like celebrity auctioneer Darren Julien. He says, “It’s a celebration of her life…If you hide these things in fear that you’re going to offend someone — her life is to be celebrated. These items are historic now that she passed. They become a part of history. They should be in museums. She’s lived a life and had a career that nobody else has ever had.” He went on to say,“It proves a point that these items, they’re an investment,” Julien said. “You buy items just like a stock. Buy at the right time and sell at the right time, and they just increase in value.”  Do you agree? Is it too soon? Or is it okay that it’s an investment? Things that make you go Mmmmmm…
