Not only is Simon Cowell the boss of X Factor but he is now a hero!

52 year old Simon was sailing with friend Sinitta, near St Tropez when he received a “S.O.S” message about an endangered ship.

Sinitta tweeted,

“OMG!! Just had a May Day message, 35ft boat sinking.. SC (Simon Cowell) has sent us to help and rescue 9 people on board! Slipstream look alike boat.”

About an hour lated she followed up tweeting,

“Everyone ok,[sic] noone hurt.captain won’t let boat sink, petrol in sea etc would cause major problems and fines. No tide, so hole plugged”

Thank God everyone was safe!

Simon’s rep reported,

“I don’t know about the boat, but Simon said all the passengers are OK which is the main thing.”
