TEAM SUPERGORGE EXCLUSIVE: JAY Z FROM MARCY TO BARCLAYS
Last night I got all SUPERGORGEd up to attend Jay-Z’s 2nd show at the newly opened Barclays Center. I was very excited to experience history in the making as Jay performed in an arena he partially owns in a bourough where he came from nothing. INSPIRATION to stay SUPERGORGE and keep pushing towards your dreams! SUPERGORGE Beyonce attended the 1st concert but no sight of her at the 2nd Most celebs made there way to the 1st show like Denise Vasi from VH1′s Single Ladies looking SUPERGORGE with her fiance, but I am sure some faces will pop up at the last show next Saturday.
Jay rocked official Nets gear all night and performed an almost solo set except for appearances by Big Daddy Kane and Memphis Bleek (a personal fave of mine). He made apparent note of rocking out in a solo set, squashing any rumors or thoughts that he would bring big names out with him on stage. The concert was truly for Jay Z FANS as he performed songs from Reasonable Doubt, Sean Carter Vols I and II amongst many other hits and to my happiness his verses from “Clique” and “3 Kings”.
Now Jay doesn’t give you hooplah and jumping around on stage so if you don’t know his songs you probably didn’t rock out with him as hard. The crowd was nonetheless lackluster and Jay pointed this out blatantly by asking for more crowd participation…a little awkward. He left the stage twice only to come back to faint screams and applause although when he asked the crowd if we wanted to go home he was met with a resounding “No” in reply. Lord knows how Jay is going to get through 8 straight shows…I have a feeling this may be his retirement tour. In the end I was extremely satisfied with my experience and double hype because Jay Z wore the same Nets hat I was wearing for his second wardrobe change. I think that means Jay and I are great minds that think alike.
In the words of Jay
You are now a part of history. This stadium was built for you, it is your home. I am the result of what happens when dreams come true
