Finally! it’s been announced that there will be a R&B Hall Of Fame, much like the legendary Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. For the R&B Hall of Fame , the Inaugural Induction Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 in Cleveland, Ohio at Cleveland’s Music Hall/Public Auditorium. The 1st inductees will be legends Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, James Brown , Areatha Franklin, The OJay’s , Gerald Levert and The Temptations to name a few! This is much deserved and we are very surprised that it took so long to happen!!! I wish that Michael, Whitney, James and Gerald were still alive to accept their honored! Continue reading
ARETHA FRANKLIN RELEASES STATEMENT ON BEING TOO ILL TO ATTEND WHITNEY HOUSTON’S FUNERAL, BUT SHE PERFORMED LAST NIGHT!
We were all eagerly waiting on Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston’s Godmother to pay tribute to her today a her homegoing service. Unfortunately Ms. Franklin did not attend the service and issued a statement saying she was to ill to attend.Franklin tells The Associated Press she has been having foot and leg problems. CNN confirms that the private funeral being held for Whitney Houston will be viewable for fans through broadcast and online streaming.

Yesterday we told you that Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston’s GodMother is set to sing at the singers funeral this Saturday. We’ve learned that Stevie Wonder is set to attend as well and maybe perform. Whitney’s Bodyguard co star, Kevin Costner is said to make a speech at the funeral and now we’re hearing that Oprah Winfrey has also been invited to the invite only service. Brandy, Eay J, and Bill Cosby are also amongest the invited. Rumors are spreading that Jay Z and Beyonce have also been invited. Whitney’s childhood church only seats 300 people.
WHITNEY HOUSTON’S GODMOTHER, ARETHA FRANKLIN WILL SING AT STARS FUNERAL
This Saturday a true icon will be laid to rest. It is still very hard to believe that Whitney Houston is no longer with us! On Saturday, Whitney Houston’s funeral services will be held at he church she grew up in, New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey, by invitation only. It has been reported that Clive Davis has asked Whitney’s GodMother and fellow icon, Aretha Franklin to sing “I Will Always Love You.”. There is no word yet on if anyone one else will sing at the funeral. I’ve also heard that although the public memorial has been cancelled, the funeral services will be streamed online. I will let you know if there is any truth to that. Whitney Houston is also said to be buried next to her father, John Rusel Houston Jr., who died in 2003.

Tonight the 2012 BET Honors, hosted by Gabrielle Union premiered. I actually had the the chance to be at this show , which was tapped at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C and it was amazing! Spike Lee, Mariah Carey, Tuskegee Airman and Maya Angelou were all honored and Jill Scott, Willow Smith, Queen Latifah, Kelly Rowland, Patti Labelle,Stevie Wonder, Common, Anthony Hamilton and Aretha Franklin all hit the stage to tribute the honorees.

ARETHA FRANKLIN CALLS OFF WEDDING!
Just weeks after announce that she was engaged, The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin has called off her engagement to Willie Wilkerson. The Queen says that the relationship was moving way to fast and “a number of things” added to the descicsion to call off the wedding. Aretha added that she will not talk further aboout the end of her engagement because of “the very personal and sensitive nature of it.” Continue reading

69 year old Aretha Franklin will be marrying her longtime love William”Willie” Wilkerson. It’s been reported that she may be considering a Miami Beach yacht wedding and that her dress will be designed by a fashion heavy hitter. Her people told PEOPLE Magazine “Ms. Franklin is considering Donna Karan, Valentino and the queen of wedding dresses, Vera Wang, to design her gown.” Aretha Franklin also said, “We’re looking at June or July for our date and no, I’m not pregnant, LOL!” I was just telling someone, literally yesterday, that it’s NEVER too late! I LOVE IT!!! Congrats to the Queen!
