Jarule and long time friend/business partner Irv Gotti stopped by Power 105 ”The Breakfast Club” for an exclusive interview about their marital woes to their falling out with ex Murder Inc member Ashanti, drug addiction, and the ”real” inside story of Karrine Steffans better known as the one and only ”Super-head”.
Jarule paid homage to Irv by speaking on their loyalty, bond, and love they have for each other. He says their relationship is deeper than just music and business. They are family. Gotti even spoke on his ruined business relationship with J.Lo because he, unlike J.Lo admitted that her songs ”Ain’t It Funny” and ”I’m Real” was about the breakup between her and Diddy.
Both on their drug addiction:
Gotti: Ecstasy was good. We made all those records you love, and we were very high. Rule was a maniac. Everyday he will wake up with a bottle of Remy. Do you know what’s that doing to your liver? No orange juice, no water. Then we was making paper, so we will have a lot of Cristal. I’m like yo man, Nino Brown man, get my man a straw.
Jarule: Those were the days.
Jarule on his marital woes:
Jarule: ” I didn’t make it easy on her. Y’all women have an unique skill of knowing that this is the man that you want, but maybe he’s not the man that you want him to be right now. I wasn’t ready to be the man she was wanting me to be at the moment. I was being very selfish. You know, anything you want to do to the best of your abilities, you have to be somewhat selfish. Here I’am starting a family, starting a marriage and this union that was suppose to be my number one priority to make it work. But then, I kinda gotta be here to make this rapping work. I was doing what I needed to do to win, and did a lot of hurting her at the same time. I wasn’t there for a lot of things I should have been their for but a good father, I was. All the rumors, and things like that, terribly true. I was there as much as I could be, but I wasn’t a great husband. ”
On Karrine ”Super head” Steffans:
Jarule: Damn her! Damn those lies (laughs) She recently came forward and recanted her statement about some of the things she said in her book.
Gotti:” I don’t want to be anywhere near Superhead. All money ain’t good money. You know what flabbergasted me about Super-head? When she was on Oprah. I’m really good friends with Oprah and Gail, I’m good friends with Gail and I said, ”Gail, how y’all not going to have any rappers on but y’all have that c*cksucker on there? Then I said, she’s lying to y’all man. ”
Gotti: ” Here’s the real! Me and Ashanti has a unique bond. We made great music and everything like that. We at Murder Inc, and it’s like family but when things got rough, she bounced. When I fell upon hard time, and my office got raided, she left right along with other people. She bailed yo! I don’t care what I’m going through, ride with me. Even if you don’t want to be on Murder Inc or whatever, still ride. She didn’t want to be apart of Murder Inc anymore because she thought that she was this princess I created, and Murder Inc wasn’t good enough for her image anymore.
Yeah I prob could help her career right now, but does she want to be helped? If you going to stand next to me, then stand next to me. Cool, don’t stand next to me, but don’t come around looking for a record deal either. ”
Ecstasy was good. We made all of those records you love and we was very high. Rule was a maniac. Everyday he would wake up with a bottle of Remy. Do you know what’s that’s doing to your liver? You wake up, no OJ, no water. You wake up with a liter of Remy Martin. Then when we was making a lot of paper, he would wake up with Cristal. I’m like, yo man, Nino Brown man, get my man a straw.” – See more at: http://madamenoire.com/306564/ja-rule-irv-gotti-talk-popping-e-cheating-wives-ashanti-beef/#sthash.SekHO92e.dpuf
