Blush

Make it Blush…Baby!!!

Through the years of my love affair with makeup, I’ve noticed that blush is either a hit or miss with most beauties.  It’s like one of  those love/hate type relationships…simply meaning- you either love it or you hate it!!!  Well, that’s exactly how I feel about it too but not just because I feel like loving or hating it…It takes a lot to perfect and is sometimes a challenge for me to gauge whether or not my client has on just enough, too much, or too little.  Yes, even makeup artists have challenges with certain things so don’t be discouraged! LOL  I’ve gotten it down to a science now- and for you, using your mirror is key in proper blush application!  (I always double check it on the monitor or camera before making adjustments)  Also the shape, and definition of the cheek is your foundation!  A person with fuller cheeks will need a bit more contour, as  a person with very high cheek bones will need less contour and more highlighting, a person with square shape face with need emphasis on the apples of the cheeks, etc.  The direction you take is individual…..

At any rate, blush IS a very important element to your total look.  Blush balances the face, gives more dimension and emlimates the look of a flat canvas!  It also ties everything in….Learn to master your blush technique and application- straying away from it could be the downfall to a flawless look!!!!!  Remember, practice makes perfect!

Blush should brighten up the complexion, and give the illusion of a natural blushing.  You’ll know when you nail it- it will look like it’s coming from the inside out!!!!   Check out these pics Continue reading

First you have to decide what cheek color is best for you. I carry my favorite colors in my kit and of course I have a flavor to suit every complexion and every personality!  Each one listed here is pretty much universal: Continue reading
