PRESIDENT OBAMA WRITES LETTER TO HEAVY D’S DAUGHTER; JAY Z, DIDDY, WILL & JADA ATTEND THE SERVICE

 

This morning rapper Heavy D was remembered and honored by many celebrities including Jay ZDiddy, Usher, Samuel L. Jackson, Will & Jada, Queen Latifiah and many more.  Rev. Al Sharpton read a letter of encouragement from President Obama, that was addressed to Heavy D’s 11 year old daughter,  Xea Myers.

We extend our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. He will be remembered for his infectious optimism and many contributions to American music. Please know that you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers,” read the Obama note. Continue reading

HEAVY D’S FUNERAL OPEN TO THE PUBLIC THROUGH CHURCH’S WEBSITE. WATCH NOW

Heavy D’s viewing and wake was held yesterday and today a private funeral is being held at his home church, Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, NY. His family and friends are all there to morn the loss of their loved one, and they also decided to share the experience with his fans. You can watch the service live on Grace Baptist’s website. RAPPER HEAVY D HAS PASSED

 

May 24th 1967- November 8th 2011

We are sad to confirm that legendary rapper Heavy Dhas passed away at the age of 44.  Heavy D, was a dancing, fun rapper that the ladies loved!  Heavy was rushed to an LA hospital today after a phone call was placed from his home, reporting a many passed out on the sidewalk. When help arrived, it’s reported that Heavy was responsive , but at 1pm (LA TIME) Heavy was announced dead.

Just last month we all watched Heavy perform on the BET HIP HOP Awards! I’m glad he was celebrated in life! REST IN PEACE!! WATCH HEAVY’S LAST BET PERFORMANCE:
