She opened up about hair being an accessory and changing it whenever and however she wants. Jill says, “This is the simplest form of myself. I look in the mirror and it’s like, ‘Hey, there you go. What’s up, girl?’ For me, hair is an accoutrement. Hair is jewelry. It’s an accessory. Tomorrow I may want a wig down to my butt and I’m gonna rock it, and the next day I may want a big Afro and I’m gonna rock that too…”

QUEEN LATIFAH, JILL SCOTT & PHYLICIA RASHAD TO STAR IN ALL BLACK STEEL MAGNOLIAS

We’ve been hearing rumors for awhile now that there was an all black remake of the 1989 hit movie Steel Magnolias, which starred Julia Roberts, Dolly Parton and Sally Field , in the work. Steel Magnolias tells the story of 6 women’s lives from the lives Louisiana, with women Truvy’s beauty shop as the back drop. Now we can confirm that Queen Latifah, Jill Scott, Alfred Woodard, Phylicia Rashad and her daughter Condella Rashad will star in Lifetime’s made for TV movie, which has started filming in Atlanta and will premiere later tis year. I’m excited to see this adaption!
