Off to the slammer she will go!! The judge in singer Lauryn Hill’s tax evasion case, has just sentenced the 37 year old mother of 6, to 3 months in jail which will be followed by 3 months of house arrest and then 9 more months of supervised release. I guess her paying $970,000 last minute and her open letter did nothing to persuade the judge to let her off. In court Lauryn paraphrased her open letter and compared her situation to slavery. Of course by now you’ve heard that singer Lauryn Hill owes over $1.8 million in back taxes, and has only paid $50,000 towards it. The singer has 2 weeks to come up with half the money or it’s to the slammer she goes!!!
I always think it’s crazy when celebs aren’t paying their taxes and when they get caught on it, they don’t just pay. Where are the coins?? Well in this open letter Lauryn lets us know that even though she has sold more than 50,000,000, yes 50 million albums worldwide, she’s only received a very small financial gain from her work!! Oh the shade of the music industry!!

This weekend all of us Lauryn Hill fans were very pleased to see the legend hit the stage for Summer Jam 2012! Today we’ve learned the the singer/actress made about $1.6 million in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and failed to pay any taxes!! Lauryn has been charged with failing to file income tax returns and will face Federal court on june 29th, she could (but probably won’t ) face jail time! When will these celebrities learn to pay their taxes!!!!

Case in point, the birthday boy Lebron James is having an intimate birthday dinner tomorrow at Vesper American Brasserie at the Shelborne Hotel in South Beach, with only his 50 closest friends!! On the guest list of course are Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade, and as I like to call them , The Real Miami Basketball Wives, Savannah ,Gabrielle Union and Adrienne Bosh. After dinner the crew is said to hit up a Lauryn Hill performance! Kind of sucks the boys can’t get too wasted, they have a game the next day! Happy bday Bron Bron!
