After threats from Marvin Gaye’s son, Marvin Gaye III, to take legal action against Lenny and the movie, Lenny dropped out. According to several outlets Lenny and Marvin III were childhood friends and he was pissed that Lenny would be portraying his dad during the time in his life when he was a drug user.
