The man under the cap and wig spoke out about the beef between Rihanna and Teyana that fueled over an Instagram video Rihanna posted, in what we believe was directed towards Teyana. Let’s take a quick recap, shall we! Teyana posted a video of her singing Anita Baker’s ”Caught Up In The Rapture’‘ in which I think she sounded marvelous, and a few days later, here you see Yusef imitating Teyana’s style with the long wavy hair, and fitted caps, which she always wears, as he sung the same exact song but didn’t sound so pleasant doing it. It couldn’t have been more obvious that Yusef’s performance was inspired from Teyana’s video, and even if it was just a little jokey joke, the fact still remains that the shade was being thrown her way.
Yusef told Enstars that the joke was actually a praise of Teyana’s voice. (Side eye) But peep out his explanation of it all.
“Honestly, I just finished making the wig. I started making the video. It was amazing, no malicious intent towards Teyana. I just think it was uncalled for. Teyana killed that song…She [Rihanna] could care less. It was funny. That’s whats so funny. It wasn’t like that. She doesn’t care. That’s her personality. “
He went on to express how he felt when Teyana labeled Rihanna as a cyber-bully.
“Cyber bully is harsh word. She is focused, being Rihanna. She is not sitting around. She didn’t grab her phone. She is the most kind and giving person. I just think for that to go the way it went, it was uncalled for.”
So do you think joking like that wasn’t going to get out of hand, or nah? Hey, hey! I’m just saying. People are sensitive when it comes to their music, voice, etc….!! But check this out, did Yusef throw a slight jab at Teyana when he said…..
“It turned into this big drama, but I guess it was all good at the end of the day to help with her new album. A little publicity doesn’t hurt good or bad these days.”
