The fashionista’s flock to New York Fashion Week like moths to a flame. A few of them have been spotted across New York thus far.
Selita Ebanks always looks stunning, the former Victoria’s Secret model always keeps it simple and sexy. However, the raging fashion from “wild child” Solange Knowles is being polished as she matures. For a while I was worried but hopeful that she would find her “nitch”. Actress Tika Sumpter is playing is safe with a very mod look accompanied by some six inch walkers.

SPARKLE COMES IN #5 AT THE BOX OFFICE AND BRINGS IN….

Sparkle made $12 million over the weekend and came in the #5 spot at the box office. That’s pretty darn good..but I’m curious to know if you guys think those are good numbers?
I saw Sparkle this weekend and I have to say, firstly that I prefer the original. I won’t give too much of a spoiler for those of you who haven’t seen it, but they certainly did their share of remixing to the original plot and that I wasn’t too fond of.
Were you pleased with the movie and do you think the #5 spot is a good place?

Last night Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter and Carmen Ejogo dazzled at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre for the LA premiere of Sparkle! I am very pleased with the fashion choices the ladies made last night , especially because they all were very lack luster at the New York premiere a few days ago. Also on the red carpet was Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, with her adopted brother/fiance Nick Gordon. In the magazine, Tika talks about her role in the movie, how she makes time for herself in this hectic industry ,the difference between working with a predominately white cast on Gossip Girl to now being apart of an all black cast and of course fashion.

Just like Gwen Stefani and Lady Gaga who are covering magazines for the month of September , the ladies are decked in pink! pink must be the season’s IT color. Sadly Whitney Houston is not apart of the cover, but in the magazine the entire cast reflects on her influenec and presence and Bobbi Kristina even shares a letter to her mother in the issue. With the movie “Sparkle” set to air August 10th Jordin Sparks shows some behind the scene footage to “Celebrate”, the R. Kelly-produced single and the final song recorded by Whitney Houston.
Jordin celebrated the life of her late mentor with her co-stars including Derek Luke, Omari Hardwick, Goapele, Carmen Ejogo, and Tika Sumpter by throwing a house party.

New IT girl Tika Sumpter covers the October digital issue of Vibe Vixen. I recently saw Tika in “What’s Your Number?”, her part was very small, but she has recently started working on the Sparkle remake, with a much larger role. Recently we’ve also saw Tika’s talents in in Gossip Girl and The Game. There really aren’t to many young black actresses out , who appear to be able to fill the shoes of Halle Berry, except maybe Zoe Saldana. Do you think Tika has what it takes?
