Yesterday was Dr. King’s birthday and today we celebrate nationally to honor his memory. Take today not just to relax on another day off, but do something kind for someone, even if it’s just to say a prayer. For those of you in the DC area, maybe you can even go visit the memorial. While you’re there you can look at the amazing memorial piece, and you can also read the very controversial line that is officially being changed because of some discrepancies about how it makes Dr. King come across. It reads,  “I was a drum major for justice, peace and righteousness.” Maya Angelou thinks it makes him “sound like an arrogant twit.” If I can say, I think that’s a bit much Ms. Angelou, but as long as his message of peace and equality remains, all is well.
