Earlier this week I had the chance to chop it up with new artist Ravaughn at the DTLR/Direct Drive record pool meeting in Washington DC at Bar 7.
Ravaughn is the newest artist signed to Neyo’s Compound Records/Columbia, hailing from Los Angeles. Currently Ravaughn’s single, BETTER BE GOOD, featuring Wale is heating up the charts and the video recently debuted. Not only is this girl SUPERGORGE, she also seems very down to earth, can REALLY sing live and has some feistiness to her. While performing she was playful, yet with a straight face took a pause while some members of the crowd were talking, and told them she’d wait until they were done (Lol).
Take a look at our interview as she describes how it is to work with NEYO, the state of R&B, her 1st big purchase and who is waiting at home for her!!!

Mr. Brown was hospitalized last month after being diagnosed with pneumonia.
I have a feeling lots of Go-Go will be pumping out of people’s cars tonight.
Very sad. RIP Chuck Brown!
Actor George Clooney was arrested earlier today in Washington DC, for protesting on the steps of the Embassy of Sudan. Clooney is apart of the United to End Genocide which held a rally to call on the United States and world leaders to stop the violence in South Sudan and prevent hundreds of thousands of people from starving. Clooney along with his father, 11 other men and 2 women were arrested. He was later released for $100.
Do you think going to jail for your cause makes a difference??
Yesterday was Dr. King’s birthday and today we celebrate nationally to honor his memory. Take today not just to relax on another day off, but do something kind for someone, even if it’s just to say a prayer. For those of you in the DC area, maybe you can even go visit the memorial. While you’re there you can look at the amazing memorial piece, and you can also read the very controversial line that is officially being changed because of some discrepancies about how it makes Dr. King come across. It reads, “I was a drum major for justice, peace and righteousness.” Maya Angelou thinks it makes him “sound like an arrogant twit.” If I can say, I think that’s a bit much Ms. Angelou, but as long as his message of peace and equality remains, all is well. Will you be visiting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s memorial today?

How powerful is this photo?? The saying holds true , that a picture speaks a thousand words! This shot is so amazing of Dr. Martin Luther King standing tall over the 1st family of the United states! and fills me up emotionally. 33 years after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, his memorial , which stands 45 feet tall, was unveiled in Washington DC’s National Mall on August 28th 2011. Today , October 16th, President Obama, Aretha Franklin, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Mary Mary and thousand of others, lead the dedication of the memorial.
